Cut the Rope for iPad: (Much) Better Than Angry Birds! Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/5671142

Cut the rope is being hailed as the next Angry Birds, because it's so addictive and coincidentally, Chillingo, the same guys who hooked us to Angry Birds, are now getting millions of people to leave their dinners go cold and their bosses pulling their hairs out while they are cutting down candy for Om Nom, as the little green monster in the game is called. In order to do this you have to not only cut the ropes, but also use blow dryers, whoopee cushions and air bubbles to get the candy to Om Nam, who gets fussy when you take too long and heartbreakingly sad if you screw up.
Actually, I much prefer this game to Angry Birds, as it's a clever puzzle with enough gimmicks and action to keep me interested, but my 14-year old cousin was hugely entertained as well. Even my 70-year old mom, not a gaming fan at all, got it in one go, and has been playing for over an hour as we speak! Not a bad score for only $1.99 for the iPad version or $0.99 for the iPhone app.
And we're not the only ones enjoying Cut the rope: after only nine days the game was downloaded over 1 million times from the App Store. This makes it the quickest app ever to hit the million mark and it has even unseated Angry Birds as the most popular app game du jour. Which is great as I was getting just a teensy weensy bit bored by those birds and their precious eggs. There is definitely such a thing as too many birds in my book! Also, I think it's a shame when new, really good apps don't stand a chance because of a hype. Eve if someone worked very, very hard on it for over ten years, so I guess he deserves all his success. I wish I could build apps myself, actually, especially a really popular one, then I could finally buy that island in the Caribbean.
The guys who invented Cut the rope are probably checking out real estate as we speak, as the app is so immensely popular, there's already talk of an update, with 25 more levels of candy to feed the little monster and 11 new achievements. Don't tell my mom or I'll never see my iPad again;-)
We rate this app 4 out of 5 stars.
